The Club helps high school students from Prince George’s, Baltimore, Anne Arundel, Howard, and Montgomery counties learn and practice the fundamentals of investing. Meeting for one hour each week for nine weeks, students will learn key concepts such as the time value of money, risk, return on investment, and opportunity cost. They will explore NASDAQ and the NYSE and learn how to pick and track stock, mutual funds, index funds, and bonds by participating in The Stock Market Game, a virtual, simulated web and app contest platform, where they will receive $100K to invest and track for two months. By the end of the program participants will each have earned up to $100 in cash incentives to open Robinhood accounts to establish real-world investing portfolios.
