YES is working with local partners to develop a nonprofit business association in Kisii, Kenya, where youth unemployment is a large and growing issue. KBA is bringing together Kisii businesses, NGOs, and government to catalyze job creation by helping existing firms grow and new entrepreneurs launch. KBA will provide resources, networking, training, and marketing support by fostering collaborative connections to build a strong, diverse, equitable, and inclusive business community. KBA will also create a website featuring a business directory.
Funding is provided donations and sales from YES’ BizVenture! Academy marketplace.

YES is developing an online portal of learning tools for use by educators, youth workers, and entrepreneurs of all ages, including Ebooks, webinars, and courses.

Greenbelt Business Directory / greenbelt.biz
Greenbelt Business Alliance / Greenbelt, MD

YES proposed and developed an online directory of 2,000 Greenbelt business, nonprofit, and government entities for Greenbelt Business Alliance in partnership with the City of Greenbelt and Chiquita Jackson Enterprise. The City’s Economic Development Office will use the data collected by YES and CJE to identify and provide technical assistance to historically-marginalized business owners. The nonprofit GBA will use the directory as its website and member management platform. GBA seeks to build on its mission to “Create a resilient and regenerative Greenbelt economy that is diverse, inclusive, equitable, and environmentally sustainable.”
Funding provided by the National League of Cities’ Inclusive Entrepreneurship Program and the American Rescue Plan Act via the City of Greenbelt.
